PROCLAMATION             

Whereas Rotarian Manoj Mehta with the able support of the Rotary Club of Bombay Metropolitan has made it his major endeavor over many years to assist poor villagers in rural areas outside Bombay and has significantly improved their lives through water harvesting projects and other imaginative enterprises with great impact; and

Whereas  working together on these activities has built a highly valued bond between the Rotary Club of Palo Alto, California, USA and the Rotary Club of Bombay Metropolitan, India; and

Whereas  all this has resulted in personal visits to India by members of the Rotary Club of Palo Alto who have been greatly moved by seeing the difference made in the lives of so many villagers as a result of the inspiration of Rotarian Manoj Mehta and his untiring efforts; and

Whereas  the members of the Rotary Club of Palo Alto have developed a great respect for Rotarian Manoj Mehta and wish to recognize him for his outstanding humanitarian efforts as well as for the warm friendship he has extended; and

Whereas  within Rotary a preferred way to give recognition to an individual is to bestow a Paul Harris Fellowship; and

Whereas  the Rotary Club of Palo Alto through sources that we are not at liberty to disclose has determined that the aforementioned Rotarian Manoj Mehta is already a Paul Harris Fellow; and

Whereas  it is known that he has been loyally supported in his work by his loving partner Purnima Manoj Mehta; and

Now, therefore,  it has been decided, by general acclaim, that the Rotary Club of Palo Alto will award a Paul Harris Fellowship to Purnima Manoj Mehta in honor of her husband and that this document of explanation and greetings will accompany the presentation of this award.

Rotarian Manoj Mehta you exemplify what Rotarians aspire to and we salute you!
