Palo Alto Rotary

2010 - 2011

President’s Message

 Mike McMahon

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Palo Alto!  Our motto for this year, 2010-2011, is “Building Communities, Bridging Continents”.

Our club has been serving Palo Alto and the communities of the Mid-Peninsula for 89 years.  Our goal is to encourage and foster the ideal of service.  To foster the ideal of service Building Communities, in the last year we have supported local charitable organizations such as Adolescent Counseling Services, Cleo Eulau Center, Lytton Gardens, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters with local disbursements of more than $48,000.  We are also active in projects to make our community a better place to live.

We serve the World Community by joining more than 1,200,000 Rotarians on 5 continents in 200 nations by raising more than $30,000 from our members for the Rotary International Foundation.  We have also disbursed $13,000 from our own club’s charitable fund raising to support international projects and have journeyed to other countries to support these projects.  We take Bridging Continents seriously!

Fellowship and fun are also hallmarks of our Club. Our weekly lunches are highlighted by entertaining, thoughtful speakers who cap off an opportunity to interact with your professional and business peers in a warm, friendly environment.  The time and location are listed under Meeting Information on this web site.

Join us in our effort to “Build Communities, Bridge Continents”!
