Palo Alto Rotary

2015 - 2016

President

Katie Seedman

 Katie

Welcome to our Club’s 93rd year. Our theme this year is “Be a Gift to the World”. With our Charities budget at $140,000, we will surely make a difference in people’s lives both locally and internationally.
Some the projects that are already underway:  Namaste project. The mission is to promote women’s economic empowerment by making direct micro-loans to women in Guatemala and provide business advice and focus on financial literacy. Another project we are funding Skin Bank: a Stanford Extreme Project. REAL SKIN aims to design an innovative and affordable solution enabling surgical teams in Nepal to more effectively treat acute burn patients. REAL SKIN is working to establish Nepal’s first ever skin bank, in an effort to reduce burn wound infection and save patient lives.

We will be working locally on at least 2 Hands on Projects filling needs locally and continuing our donation of reading books to Students at Green Oaks Academy in East Palo Alto.

Our weekly meetings gives us a chance to catch up with our fellow Rotarians and build deeper friendships. We have incredible speakers with topics that are thought provoking and inspiring.  By belonging to Rotary, we live more meaningful lives. Every one of us has a gift, we can choose to keep it to ourselves or share it with the world. It is my honor to serve as President this 2015-20126 year.

Sincerely,

Katie Seedman
