Welcome to the Rotary Club of Palo Alto!

"Rotary Serving Humanity" is the motto we are excited to share with Rotary International and District 5170, during our 2016-2017 year.

Fellowship, service and fun are hallmarks of our Club.  Every Monday, from 12:15-1:30 p.m., our meetings are highlighted by thoughtful speakers on a variety of topics, who cap off the opportunity to interact with your professional, business and community peers in a warm and friendly environment.

Palo Alto Rotarians Receive High Honors

Bill Busse

On May 15, 2016, our Rotarian and friend, Bill Busse, was honored by Avenidas senior services agency with their "Lifetime of Achievement" award.  Bill was recognized for his hard work and optimism in both his architect professional and community service.  Bill has served on the Palo Alto Housing Commission, as vice president of environmental affairs for the Chamber of Commerce, as president of the Palo Alto YMCA Board of Directors and as president of our Rotary Club. Four years ago, Busse put his architectural talents to work when Rotary built sun shades for a new picnic area in Greer Park, as well as the Sister Cities directional pole at City Hall. Congratulations, Bill!

Annette Glanckopf

Community service has a champion. In January 2014, State Senator Jerry Hill honored Annette for her efforts in organizing the Palo Alto Neighborhoods (PAN) association, and for her commitment to disaster preparedness. The 13th Senate District Community Champion award is given to residents who have "gone the extra mile" to serve their communities and bring people together, Hill's office said.

  Walt Hays
At the 2014 Rotary District Conference in April, District Governor Angie Hassler presented Walt Hays with the Rotary Foundation Award named for Past District Governor Karl Stucki who served in 2000-2001. Walt was honored for being the driving force for our club's matching grants, and for being our "go to guy" for World Community Service and Global Grants.  He was recognized for traveling to see our projects in action around the world.  Congratulations to Walt!
